ENERGY DISTRIBUSTION

A large share of power lines are still inspected by helicopters or linemen on foot. Senseloop offer a safer, more efficient and environmentally friendlier approach to inspect power lines.

WHAT IS THE DATA USED FOR:

  • Mandatory line inspection using high resolution drone images.  Capture images of the grid from multiple angles.

  • Inspection with infrared sensors to detect electric anomalies.

  • Monitor and detect trees fallen over the power line or ice and snow build up on the power line.

  • Mandatory registration of the the exact position of towers and power lines.

  • Vegetation management. Create a plan for which vegetation needs to be cut immediately and what can be cleared later.

ARE YOU LOOKING FOR A SAFE AND EFFICIENT WAY OF INSPECTING AND MAINTAINING POWER LINES?

Our drones can be equipped with a wide range of sensors and we have approval to operate our drones beyond visual line of sight and with 4G/5G if necessary. This gives us necessary flexibility to collect data, effectively over large distances.

Here is an example on how we put together an annual inspection program for one of our customers.

We started by mapping all towers and power lines with an accurate LiDAR scanner. This gave an accurate position for the entire grid to be input into the customers software application. Part of the grid was vulnerable to weather conditions, such as, heavy snowfall and high winds and required rapid response inspection.

While there was a need to plan mandatory inspection for the entire grid and match this with available resources to perform necessary maintenance and repair. Some parts of the grid was warn with possibly abnormal voltage and contact resistance.  We included a thermal drone scan to analyze these defects.
